BLUEBIRDCOVER

Really a great surprise!! Country Boys Blues got a very favorable review in the Acid Archives book, and this is fully deserved. It's a fantastic mix between country rock (it's clear that Bluebird owes a debt to Buffalo Springfield), rural pop with fuzz guitars (a bit like Sensation maybe?) and westcoast sounds of the highest order (a la CSN). Although released in 1980, all the songs were recorded somewhere around 1969 and it's hard to believe it's a compilation (it's all good though and coherent). Oh, I almost forgot... Bluebird has a website full of info and it tells the story of the band in every details - awesome! The word isn't really out on how good this LP is but I'm fairly certain it could becoming an expensive collectible in the future.

  • Somewhere there is music
  • : Somewhere there is music or a musical peregrination through buried treasures, lost masterpieces, obscure gems, ultimate grails, underestimated albums, so-so outsider releases and maybe crap according to some people.
